Description
Most burglars take things. This one bakes.
Tillie Moore came to Sweet Haven, Michigan for a fresh start, and she is three weeks away from opening Paw Paw’s Bakery, a bakery just for pets. All that’s left is a few shelves, one health inspection, and a lot of pupcakes.
Then the clues start piling up. A warm kitchen first thing in the morning. Sheet pans that aren’t where she left them. An electric bill that makes no sense.
Somebody is letting themselves into her shop after dark. With twenty years of old keys floating around town, it could be anyone.
Tillie is not about to let a mystery ruin her grand opening. So she does what any sensible bakery owner would do. She stakes out her own shop.
Daisy, her St. Bernard, would rather nap. Beans, her pig, would rather find out what smells so good.
Can Tillie catch her night baker before the inspector walks through the door?
A clean, cozy short story full of pets, pastries, and small-town secrets. The prequel to Biscuits and Bedlam.
