Behind the Pages: Fuchsias and Forgery A Petal Pushers Flower Shop Cozy Mystery

When I sat down to write Fuchsia and Forgery, I Liked the idea of having a reformed criminal as an underdog. People can change and their past shouldn’t be held against them.

There's something fun about setting a mystery inside a flower shop. Flowers are symbols of life, beauty, and celebration, but they also carry darker meanings. Grief, secrets, and things left unsaid. I like the idea of a flower shop as the perfect backdrop for a story where appearances aren't always what they seem, much like the counterfeit bills that start showing up in Hunter's Hollow.

Small towns are ideal for cozy mysteries because everyone knows everyone. That closeness creates both comfort and tension. When counterfeit money starts circulating through Hunter's Hollow, it doesn't just threaten bank accounts it threatens trust. Neighbors start looking at neighbors differently. Longtime friends become suspects. And Presley, with her self-admitted nosiness, finds herself right in the middle of it all.

I strive to make Presley's world to warm and real. That meant giving her a best friend who shows up with lattes and muffins from the local bakery, a husband who supports her even when she drives him crazy, and two pets an English mastiff named Bella and a duck named Topknot who steal every scene they're in. Because even in the middle of a mystery, life goes on. Customers need their wedding flowers. You must drink lattes. And ducks need attention.

If you love stories where the mystery is woven into the fabric of everyday small-town life, where the protagonist is equal parts curious and compassionate, I think you'll feel right at home in Hunter's Hollow.
